Nelson English Centre has a close relationship and further study agreement with Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) and can assist students with getting information on further study options. Nelson English Centre and NMIT are only five minutes walk from each other on Hardy Street.

Long term students can study English including IELTS at NEC while deciding which subject to continue studying. A key advantage for these students is the easy availability of rental accommodation near NMIT, NEC and the city centre. In the inner city campus area long term students can walk or cycle between Nelson English Centre, the city Library, NMIT and the houses of fellow students to eat, drink and talk.
